Any US school district can prevent childhood obesity with this straightforward, affordable strategy.
Even while the childhood obesity pandemic has recently been said to be levelling down, the issue is still very much present, and we are still a long way from having it solved. One group of concerned exercise physiologists recently outlined a straightforward 7-step solution that any school district in America can implement as long as they're action-oriented and truly want to start taking regular, documented bites out of childhood obesity in their own schools starting this fall. While complicated and expensive solutions are being proposed by many authorities, this group of exercise physiologists is concerned about the issue.
Here is their Quick and Easy 7 Step Solution.
1. Set an overall district target to eradicate childhood obesity in ten years or less.
2. To determine which of your pupils can complete standard pull-ups, provide a test to the entire district. Since it is widely accepted that children who can perform standard pull-ups cannot be obese, you will begin the school year with concrete proof that a specified proportion of your students is not obese. As a starting point, use this.
3. Give unique T-shirts (sweatshirts, caps, etc.) and Certificates of Immunization to all pupils who can complete conventional pull-ups. These items will serve as a reminder that as long as they can execute pull-ups, they are already immune to obesity.
4. Encourage these pupils to improve their capacity for performing standard pull-ups, as the more pull-ups they can complete, the higher their physical efficiency (leanness).
5. After that, start assisting all K–2 kids in learning to perform standard pull-ups in a predictable amount of time using a simple height–adjustable pull-up bar and Rick and Morty Sweatshir leg–assisted pull-ups to help them naturally protect themselves against obesity.
6. Once all grade levels, K–12, are included, add one class level per year after that (e.g., in year 2, add third grade, year 3, add fourth grade, etc.).
7. As you achieve consistent, recorded progress toward reducing kid obesity in your school district every day of the week, celebrate all your victories on the websites and newsletters of your school and keep the local media informed.
Stop waiting if you enjoy ideas that are easy to implement, inexpensive, and tried and true. Do something now!
In addition, a Potential State Budget
Any school district in the United States that is action-oriented and self-starting can start implementing this straightforward, affordable obesity prevention method this fall, as was already mentioned. However, if self-starting, action-oriented school districts are hard to come by, some states may decide that it's time to pro-actively step in and fuel the pump; the budget that follows is an example of one that would do just that.
1. One State Director for $100,000 ($100,000 total)
2. Ten Regional/County Directors will get $50,000 each, for a total of $500,000.
3. 10 stipends of $10,000 each for 10 physical instructors per Region ($1,000,000 total).
4. Tools and Promotion $400,000 (total $400,000)
5. $2,000,000 (for staff, equipment, and PR) total state budge
6. The first year's goal is to document 20,000 students who were naturally protected against obesity.
7. The Goal #2 document 2,000 kids receive an organic vaccination against obesity/region
Goal #3 document 200 studentsare naturally immune to obesity and are stipend holders.
9. The fourth goal is to minimise the average cost per student of naturally protecting students from obesity for life around $100.
10. The fifth goal is to repea this effort every year for ten years, at which point childhood obesity will have been completely eradicated in this state.
